MYCO
A mushroom instead of polystyrene. It started in a bathroom. Then a production line and a Red Dot.
I co-founded MYCO in 2019. I was co-founder and CEO (2019–2026). I left in October 2026. I am not managing director or owner. The material, mycelium and waste, is meant to replace expanded polystyrene.
I started with mushrooms in a bathroom. We even made urns from mycelium. I know that line from a DVTV interview because it is true, not a slogan.
We built our own production line with continuous sterilisation. I do not put numbers, customer names or investors here. They belong to the company.
